CED-0080 - Computer Survival Skills

This is a hands-on course for people new to computers and focuses on keyboarding, word processing, and use of the Internet. By the end of the course, students will be familiar with basic computer terms and feel comfortable using Microsoft WORD, email, and the Internet.

CED-0100 - Jump Start: Reading and Writing

Jump Start: Reading and Writing is a non-credit, intensive college preparatory program, offering the equivalent of a half-time student load in Reading/Writing. Students participate in a developmental level class, as well as supplemental class meetings and more individualized lab time each week. Enrollment is contingent upon assessment scores, and is possible only with permission of a CCV coordinator.

CED-0110 - Jump Start: Math

Jump Start: Math is a non-credit, intensive college preparatory program, offering the equivalent of a half-time student load in Math. Students participate in developmental level classes (Basic Math), as well as supplemental class meetings and more individualized lab time each week. Enrollment is contingent upon assessment scores, and is possible only with permission of a CCV coordinator.

CED-0161 - Career Focus Workshop

Introduces essential steps for making career decisions, including self-assessment of interests and abilities, definiing values, resources, goal setting and preparing a career plan. Free. Call VSAC at 1-800-642-3177 to register.

CED-0163 - New Student Orientation
0 Credits
Orientation workshop for new CCV students.

CED-0286 - Professional Field Experience Preparation
0 Credits
This workshop prepares students for enrollment in INT-2860, Professional Field Experience. Students are required to enroll in this workshop prior to or concurrently with registration for INT-2860. The workshop provides students with materials and resources necessary to find their field placement and will assist them in the development of a resume. It will also give students an opportunity to meet with their instructor to learn about field experience opportunities in their local area.

CED-0675 - Online Advising
0 Credits
This online companion workshop provides communication and academic resources for students taking CCV online courses. The workshop helps students navigate CCV's online learning system, Moodle, and provides tips for success in online courses. It also presents information for using CCV's Hartness Library and academic support services at CCV. Enrolled students receive email reminders throughout the semester for important tasks like checking grades and completing course evaluations.
